Introducing the Fall 2024 Cohort

CO-AX Program

Kura

Kura aims to revolutionize communication within healthcare by providing a secure, seamless platform for clinicians to engage with patients, colleagues, and external parties such as interpreters and family members. The current solutions for sharing sensitive information are outdated, relying on methods like fax or traditional mail, which are neither efficient nor secure.

Cecilia Videcéls, CEO and founder, personal experience as both a patient and a healthcare professional highlighted the gaps in communication and the need for continuity in patient care. Kura addresses this by creating a platform that enhances the sharing of critical information, improving patient outcomes and healthcare efficiency.

COMAS Medical Technologies

Chronic ulcers pose a significant challenge to global healthcare systems, leading to immense patient suffering and high treatment costs. COMAS Medical Technologies combines advanced deep tissue perfusion sensors with electrical stimulation to both prevent the formation of skin ulcers and treat existing ones. Unlike current methods that focus on symptom management, COMAS targets the root cause of ulcer formation, a problem the founders identified through their work as spinal surgeons.

By addressing this critical issue, COMAS aims to provide a more effective solution for patients and alleviate the burden on healthcare systems worldwide.

Empepe Development

Empepe Development is dedicated to empowering individuals with tools and insights that promote healthy living, particularly for those dealing with Diabetes.

The company offers a unique blend of lifestyle education, digitalisation and pedagogical support, complementing existing treatments.

With a team member who is a practicing MD and PhD, specializing in diabetes care, and another who has been living with diabetes for over 30 years, Empepe Development combines clinical expertise and personal experience to create impact solutions.

Pre CO-AX Program

Helton

Navigating cancer treatment is complex, involving multiple healthcare providers and creating significant challenges for both patients and their families. Helton offers a unique service that educates and guides corporate leadership teams on how to best support employees diagnosed with cancer. The program also provides direct coaching for the affected employee and their family, enhancing their understanding and comfort during a difficult time.

The founders’ own experiences with severe cancer diagnoses underscored the need for such a service. Despite being healthcare professionals themselves, they found the lack of guidance and support overwhelming. Helton’s service aims to fill this gap, potentially reducing sick leave costs for companies while improving the quality of life for patients and their loved ones.

Lifelink

Sudden cardiac arrest remains a leading cause of death, with survival rates as low as 10% in Sweden. Research suggests that up to 70% of these cases could have a positive outcome if an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) is used within the first 3-5 minutes. Lifelink’s mission is to develop an affordable, portable AED that can be easily carried by first responders, increasing its availability in emergencies.

The proposed AED will feature advanced technology, including four electrodes (instead of the standard two), AI capabilities, and integration with healthcare systems to optimize the response process. The founder’s extensive experience in emergency healthcare highlights the critical need for more accessible and reliable AEDs. By addressing the issues of cost and functionality, Lifelink aims to significantly improve survival rates for sudden cardiac arrest.
